Controversy In Baseball Tournament, Kevin THE BOYZ Writes Sorry

JAKARTA - Kevin from the group THE BOYZ released a personal apology via his group's social media account on Tuesday, April 22. This apology relates to his actions while attending a recent baseball tournament.

On April 19, Kevin and his group mate Eric made a special appearance at the KBO League for the Kiwoom Heroes and KT Wiz matches at Gocheok Sky Dome, Seoul, which is Kiwoom Heroes' headquarters. They got an invitation to do the first throw.

After throwing the first ball, Kevin was in the spotlight after a fan uploaded a photo of Kevin sitting watching the game and showing his cellphone screen with a message.

Kevin wrote, 'I hope there will be a day when I can sing the national anthem in Gwangju, Kia Tigers headquarters,' which mentions another baseball team.

The message was considered disrespectful considering Kevin was at headquarters and other teams to support other groups.

Kevin has just written the apology via THE BOYZ's X account where he admits his actions are disrespectful.

First, I would like to apologize to baseball fans and THE B (THE BOYZ fans). On April 19, I am grateful to receive a warm welcome and extraordinary opportunity from Kiwoom, but through my actions and words, I made a lot of people uncomfortable, "wrote Kevin.

"At the moment of the game, I should have focused on supporting Kiwoom players but I mentioned other teams and I apologize to those who feel disappointed," he continued.

"First I apologize to THE BOYZ member Eric who started the pitch with pride and once again I apologize to Kiwoom fans," Kevin said.

Eric, who threw the pitch with Kevin, was known to be a Kiwoom fan and that day came with a cellphone case that read Kiwoom to express his admiration.

Through this incident, I learned a lot about how much influence my words and actions had. I will be careful with my actions going forward. Thank you," concluded Kevin.
