IPEKA Palembang Fun Run Sukses At Perdana, Projected To Be A Routine Agenda

PALEMBANG Running event titled IPEKA Palembang Fun Run 2025 was successfully held on Saturday, April 12 yesterday. The event, which was initiated by the Palembang IPEKA Christian School, is part of a series of Open House programs to introduce schools as well as encourage a healthy lifestyle and togetherness in the community.

The excitement of this event was attended by more than 700 participants consisting of students, parents, teachers, and the general public, participants divided into two categories, namely 5K and 2.5K. Although it was only the first time it was held, the event left a positive impression.

Head of School IPEKA Palembang, Ling Er said that IPEKA Palembang Fun Run aims to increase a sense of togetherness through sports.

"At the inaugural Fun Run, we took the spirit of TOGETHER TOGETHER WE RUN, LEAVE YOUR MARK! This running event is not about being the fastest, but about walking together, creating memories, and giving meaning in every step. Together we move, together we leave a good impact", said Ling Er in a written broadcast received by VOI.

"Through Fun Run activities, IPEKA Palembang wants to instill character values such as togetherness, solidarity, empathy, a healthy lifestyle, and community spirit as a tangible manifestation of character education and social responsibility," he added.

IPEKA Palembang Fun Run 2025 was initiated and prepared by students IPEKA Palembang as well as teachers, employees, and parents of students. Deputy Principal of Christian Junior High School IPEKA Palembang, as well as Chairman of the IPEKA Committee Palembang Fun Run 2025, Kurjini Simatupang, expressed his gratitude for the spirit of collaboration that was established in this activity.

"We are grateful to see the collaboration between students, teachers, and parents, and sponsors in designing and making this event a success. This is not just a running competition, but a tangible manifestation of character education built through active involvement in community life," said Kurjini.

IPEKA Palembang Fun Run 2025 itself is opened to general participants aged 12 years and over, with two categories running, namely 5K for individuals and 2.5K Family Run for a minimum of two people in one family. IPEKA Palembang Fun Run 2025 has an on-road route around the Patal Palembang Simpang area with a start and finish at the IPEKA Palembang Christian School. In its implementation, IPEKA Palembang Fun Run 2025 also cooperates with the Health Service, Transportation Service, and the local Police to ensure the smooth running of this event.

In addition, the ambulance unit is provided by the Church of Christ Jesus Palembang in collaboration with Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital in Palembang accompanied by medical personnel on duty in accordance with the health standards set by the local Health Office.

Participants who take part in the IPEKA Palembang Fun Run 2025 only need to pay for tickets for IDR 100,000 per person. Each participant will get a race pack in the form of medals, exclusive jerseys, bags, water and refreshments, Race BIB, as well as attractive products from event sponsors.

"We hope that IPEKA Palembang Fun Run 2025 can become a routine agenda for IPEKA Palembang Christian Schools which can be held every two years in the future," Ling Erl hoped.

In addition to the IPEKA Palembang Fun Run 2025 running event, in the 2025/2026 school year, IPEKA Palembang also has several activities such as Musical Concert which showcases the talents of students, Family Sports Day which involve parents, as well as other activities from kindergarten to high school.

Currently, IPEKA Palembang Christian School also opens New Student Registration for the 2026/2027 Academic Year for all levels of education. IPEKA Palembang invites families who want quality Christian education that supports academic, spiritual growth, and student character.
