Children Start Like Opposite Types, Samuel Rizal: Free But Still Monitored

JAKARTA - Samuel Rizal shared a story about the development of his daughter, Drucilia Kalena Arifin, who is now entering the phase of liking the opposite sex. He said that this was still limited to the feeling of monkey love experienced by children his age.

"It's been (starting to have fun). It's just that the children haven't, they still (love) monkeys. Not yet (seriously)," said Samuel Rizal in the Sudirman area, Central Jakarta, Monday, March 24.

Samuel Rizal realized that as a father, he must remain open and understand the development of the child. Even so, his daughter still tends to be closed when talking about her personal feelings.

"Because she is a woman and maybe she knows her father is a bit old, she is said to be middle-aged but still like a casual person, so maybe she told you what she likes, but she (tells) a guy who likes her, yes, she lets you know. If she likes whom, she doesn't tell," said Samuel Rizal.

As a parent, he chooses not to prohibit his child if he likes the opposite sex, but still supervises its development.

"Yes, his name is also a 12 year old child, right, 12 years old have started to be like that, so what do we have to do? 'That's not allowed!', is that it?," he said.

Samuel also emphasized that he still frees his child to know his feelings, but with the supervision that is still being carried out.

"Yes, that's it (freedom but still monitored)," he concluded.
