New Talenta, Mira Lesmana And Riri Riza's Story Collaborates With Nicholas Saputra To Present Rangga & Cinta

JAKARTA - Mira Lesmana with Riri Riza and Nicholas Saputra presents the film Rangga & Cinta, a refresher from the film Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? produced by Miles Films. With various new things with old people, they made this film their 21st project in the 30th year.

"Thanks to the financing partenrs, of course it is not easy to make it because of this genre but we are committed to making this film. We agreed to look for a new face so I appreciate all my partners," said Mira Lesmana as a producer at a press conference at Plaza Senayan XXI on Friday, February 28.

As a remake project with musicals, the three of them tried to show a new face in the film industry as well as bring nostalgia with an iconic story.

"This Rangga & Cinta story is the most appropriate story for the younger generation and teenagers as well as the film is well known for them to enter a story that uses a strong ensemble," Mira continued.

'24 years ago, we participated in writing this story, what we are looking for from that era and have a different perspective from everyday life. We invite us to work together on this one thing that has made us feel a lot since the first time about scenarios, what is new. I feel like combining two worlds of opportunity and learning about who we are today, "added Riri Riza as a director.

Nicholas Saputra, who plays the character Rangga in his original film, is interested in being involved in this film. He also participated in the selection to choose the cast in the film Rangga & Cinta.

"Mba mira invites me to be involved in the film process around 2023 there has been talks and with Mas Riri and the writer initiated the concept and related to scripting, casting is certainly happy to see new players and many are the first time and want to take part in the film process," said Nicholas Saputra.

Mira explained that the reason for inviting Nicholas as a co-producer was because he had the sensitivity as an actor to get to know the story of Cinta et al.

The six-month player-finding process resulted in an ensemble of fairly new players in the industry. They not only act but also sing and dance to the choreography that will be displayed in this film.

Rangga & Cinta is played by Rafi Sudirman, Rafly Altama, Kyandra Sembel, Daniella Tumiwa, Jasmine Nadya, Harleyava Princy, Elang Putra Elsarira, Badminton Samira. The film also features music from Melly Goeslaw and Anto Hoed as well as a script written by Mira Lesmana with Titien Wattimena.

The production process for films is still ongoing and the film Rangga & Cinta is planned to be shown in theaters in 2025.
