JAKARTA - Disney will launch a new short film which is a spin-off of the animated film Soul titled 22 vs. Earth.

Movies 22 vs. Earth is a prequel to the events in the film Soul where the story focuses on the 22 characters played by Tina Fey before meeting Joe Gardner.

Kevin Nolting, who worked on the film Soul, is the director of this short film. Launching Deadline today, April 22, 22 vs. Earth will explore some questions about why 22 is such a cynical person.

22 defies the rules regarding 'The Great Before' and doesn't want to return to earth so he forms a group of five new souls. However, along with that, 22 learned the meaning of life.

The film Soul tells the story of Joe Gardner (Jamie Foxx), a music teacher who wants to become a jazz musician. One day, he had an accident and his soul was separated from his body. He is thrown into The Great Before and meets a soul counselor who prepares for a person's life before being born on earth. The film premiered on Disney+ on December 25.

Short films 22 vs. Earth will go live exclusively on Disney+ on April 30.
