However, as stated by Didiet Maulana, a well-known Indonesian designer, the main key in mix and match is comfort.

According to him, the mix and match returns to what comfort we are. When we mix and match, of course it must be cool, but most importantly it is comfortable. This concept not only emphasizes aesthetics, but also comfort in dress.

Didiet reminded that a style of dress that looks cool is important, but comfort remains a priority. Didiet revealed this through the 2025 UNIQLO Linen Spring/Summer press conference event.

"The mix and match returns to what we are comfortable with. When we mix and match, of course we have to be cool, but most importantly it is comfortable," he said, when met at Pondok Indah Mall II Mall, Jakarta on Friday, February 14.

In this case, Didiet invites people to be more sensitive to materials and pieces of clothing that suit our body's comfort. For example, a linen shirt that is currently trending. This material is not only comfortable to wear, but also gives a stylish and elegant impression, even though it looks simple.

"If you use linen, it's really old times and can be adjusted," added Didiet.

With light ingredients and easy to absorb sweat, linen provides comfort throughout the day, while increasing its chic appearance.

As an expert in fashion, Didiet also shares practical tips on the right mix and match method for various occasions. For him, it is important to be able to adapt clothes to the event that was attended.

"For mix and match, I can wear a t-shirt. A linen shirt as an exception. For example, there is a more formal meeting event, I can put the shirt in my pants, then I add a belt. I have a belt, I just need to change my shoes," said Didiet.

With this simple trick, a linen shirt that should be more relaxed can immediately turn into a neat formal outfit. Belts add a professional touch, while selected shoes can improve style.

For a more casual appearance, Didiet recommends replacing formal shoes with leather sandals or sports shoes. This is an effective way to create a flexible appearance and according to the mood or event to be attended.

"For example, if you want to look casual, you can wear leather sandals or sporty. If you want to be formal, the total look can be with latex shoes, so the look goes up in class," he added.

Didiet Maulana also pays close attention to small details that can change a person's appearance. For him, feminine style can also be created by adding fashion elements such as necklaces or scarfs.

"I like the style of women. You can raise the collar slightly, then add a necklace or fashion element that you can put on the neck. Later you can also add a scarf or scarf that makes the appearance different," he said.

Necklaces or other accessories can be a powerful way to enrich the appearance, both for everyday styles and special events. Accessories such as pearl necklaces, for example, can add to the elegant impression, while scarves or scarves provide a different touch that is not boring.

One of Didiet's style inspirations came from his personal experience during a visit to Milano, Italy.

"I was inspired when I went on vacation to Milano, Italy, they wore linen shirts and were given a personal touch with a scarf. Scarf was put in to be cooler," recalled Didiet.
