Threatened With Deportation, Hanni NJZ Revealed Has Extended Visa In Korea

JAKARTA - The NJZ responded to the report on Hanni's visa status, which is a non-Korean citizen. This statement was released after news circulated that Hanni's work visa status had expired and had not been extended.

Hanni, who holds two nationalities, namely Australia and Vietnam, works under the status of E-6 or Entertainment. His visa status ended and the old NewJeans label, ADOR was preparing an extension document, but Hanni refused to sign it.

NJZ members' parents then wrote a statement on Instagram explaining Hanni's visa status. They also revealed that ADOR and HYBE had pressured Hanni regarding NewJeans.

Hanni got a new visa yesterday (February 11) through legal procedures. ADOR pressured Hanni and her parents by using visa sensitive issues which are the main matters for overseas residents in Korea, "said NJZ representatives on Instagram.

They asked Hanni to sign a document declaring ADOR as their agency or resulting in illegal population status. They also submitted documents and signatures without notifying Hanni. As a result, various Korean media refer to it as an illegal resident.

They also used sources like 'anonymized music industry' to spread false information. In the initial report it was stated 'ADOR has prepared the necessary documents for visa extension but Hanni refuses to sign' this is contradictory to today's ADOR statement which could not confirm the situation,' they explained.

This open personal information is unacceptable and we believe writing without verification is a serious issue. Previously there were also incidents when member personal information was used to view their immigration records. The situation is getting more dangerous and we are considering legal action to take care of members," he said.

Hanni and Minji, Hyein, Danielle, and Haerin announced their new names NJZ after terminating their contracts with ADOR as NewJeans.
