Announce NJZ Name, ADOR Asks The Public To Use NewJeans

JAKARTA - Label ADOR released a new statement after five NewJeans members announced their new name, NJZ. They stated that they were promoting with a new name not in accordance with the label's approval.

On February 7, NewJeans announced they would promote with a new name that had not been approved with ADOR. This causes confusion between journalists because we have received a lot of questions about this issue," ADOR said.

They explained that NewJeans' contract with ADOR was still in effect and the termination of the contracts carried out by the five members was illegal.

The exclusive contract between ADOR and NewJeans is still legally valid and the claim ends is only one-sided. We have filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the contract and wait for a court decision," he said.

"We ask journalists to use the name 'NewJeans' according to the contract when writing articles. We ask journalists who understand exclusive contracts in the entertainment industry to cooperate so that accurate writings can be submitted," concluded the label.

Last week, five NewJeans members announced their new name, NJZ. This new name was made after they terminated their contracts with ADOR and HYBE. They also conducted exclusive interviews with international media to avoid something wrong.

NJZ is also the main performer at ComplexCon in Hong Kong where they will feature a new song with a new concept.

The court's decision from ADOR questioned that a NewJeans member's individual advertising contract would be set through a trial on March 7.
