Filming In Small China, Zulfa Maharani And Morgan Oey Reunion For Spirit Marriage

JAKARTA - Zulfa Maharani and Morgan Oey were paired as the main characters in Paul Agusta's latest film, Spirit Marriage. This film raises a tradition from China related to Spirit weddings.

"I play the role of tasya, I think it's ambitious to know what he wants and do anything for his partner," Zulfa Maharani told VOI on Monday, February 10.

"I'm Salim. Salim is logical, protective, especially with loved ones and is willing to do anything and she is bucin too," said Morgan Oey.

The film marked their third meeting in the film, even so they discovered many new things while filming Spirit Weddings.

"One of them I just found out about the spirit marriage in China when joining this project, the same as us filming for the first time in Lasem," said Zulfa.

"If a spirit marriage has heard of it, but it's not very detailed when it's small for fear of the mystical spirit in Chinese culture, I've heard of it," Morgan continued.

The city of Lasem is also known as China Kecil, so both of them felt very enthusiastic when undergoing their first production in the city.

"When we found out that the shooting was in Lasem, we were really happy, because the descendants were like going home," Morgan said.

"We are assisted by Ms. Cici, a consultant. We are also taught that thelfare is for the living, it's odd," he said again.

"We are assisted by consultants for research through familiar people, we are shooting people from the temple teaching the details of a kind of hand-folding scene," said Zulfa.

The Spirit's wedding tells the story of Salim (Morgan Oey) and Tasya (Zulfa Maharani) who are about to get married and have a pre-wedding photo shoot. In the middle of the photo shoot, Salim was asked to return to his hometown and perform a ritual. Tasya, who came home with Salim, began to feel a mysterious thing at Salim's family home.

The film The Spirit of Marriage will be released in Indonesian cinemas starting February 27.
