Lee Chae Min Targeted To Replace Park Sung Hoon For Drama The Tyrant's Chef

JAKARTA - A new name has emerged to play the male lead character in the drama The Tyrant's Chef. Previously, this drama was planned to be played by Park Sung Hoon and YoonA from Girls' Generation.

Monday, January 13, a number of South Korean media said Park Sung Hoon's role would be replaced by actor Lee Chae Min. The agency immediately responded to the news.

"Lee Chae Min accepted the offer to play The Tyrant's Chef and considered the offer positively," said GOLDMEDALIST as Lee Chae Min's agency.

The Tyrant's Chef tells the story of a chef who is at the peak of a career suddenly traveling to the past. He meets a king who is known for his bad traits but has deep culinary abilities.

This drama will be directed by Jang Tae Yoo who worked on dramas such as My Love from the Star, Lovers of the Red Sky, and Knight Flower.

YoonA got an offer as chef, while Park Sung Hoon got an offer as his tyrant. However, Park Sung Hoon opted out of the drama.

Park Sung Hoon became controversial after uploading a poster of the vulgar Squid Game series parody. The public voiced their rejection of Park Sung Hoon while the agency and Sung Hoon made an apology but they decided to leave production.

This drama is YoonA's latest project after King the Land in 2023. Lee Chae Min, who received attention thanks to Crash Course in Romance, began to be trusted to be the main character in the Hierarchy series.

This year, Lee Chae Min also confirmed joining the drama Bunny and the Boys with Roh Jeong Ui.
