Hoax! Arie Untung Calling The King Of Arabia To Take A Stairs To Avoid Usury, This Is The Fact

JAKARTA - Arie Untung discussed the sin of usury on Daniel Mananta's YouTube channel. At that time, Arie said that the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman Bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, while visiting Indonesia in 2017, brought his own stairs to avoid debt that fell into usury.

"When King Salman went to Indonesia, using a private plane, he brought down the stairs from Arabia. For what reason, he was afraid to lend money to Indonesia, then he would get a sin because he borrowed his stairs. He brought his own car because he did not want a penny to be a burden on the lender", said Arie Untung quoted from the Daniel Manantan Network YouTube channel, Friday, April 16.

The statement then became a controversy and the Presidential Secretariat denied the claim of Arie Untung. Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono explained that a special stair was prepared because King Salman was in an unhealthy condition.

"King Salman cannot go far. So a special ladder is needed according to King Salman's specifications", Heru said as quoted by CNNIndonesia.com.

Heru said that the provision of stairs had been discussed in the protocols of the two countries. The two sides agreed on a Saudi protocol to prepare a special escalator for King Salman. "The stairs are special, they have only them and the time is limited, the Indonesian side can't prepare special specifications", he said.

Apart from Heru, the scholar Nadirsyah Hosen aka Gus Nadir also explained Arie Untung's erroneous statement. Gus Nadir stated that King Salman brought the stairs himself because he was already old.

"The @ArieKuntung explanation about King Salman taking the plane stair because he didn't want usury was wrong. The King was already old, so people who visit outside are horrified to bring their own flight stair escalator", Gus Nadir said on Twitter.

Until this news was released, Arie Untung had not yet provided a further statement regarding his statement which was corrected by Gus Nadir and the Presidential Secretariat.
