JAKARTA - The horror film Don't Be Alone began showing in theaters on April 1. Not only aired in Indonesia, the film is also screened in Malaysian and Brunei Darussalam cinemas starting April 8, following the next screenings in Singapore, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Film producer Agung Setray said the film Don't Be Alone is different from the usual horror films, because it doesn't use ghosts in general. "This film uses jump scare instead of ghost figure. Instead, the horrors that these films present are based on the strength of character and storytelling that is built," he said when contacted Friday, April 9.

The combination of thriller and suspense elements, which makes the atmosphere gripping is new in the Indonesian cinema universe, especially horror films. "This differentiation is what makes the film Do not alone get a good enough aplaus for the audience of the country at the beginning of its premiere," he said confidently.

Executive Producer, Witjaksono is optimistic that success in Indonesia will also be followed by the enthusiasm of overseas audiences.
