Exclusive, Mily Band Gives Birth To Optimism In Pandemic Period

JAKARTA - The band Mily which was composed by Chia (vocals), Joshua (vocals and saxophone) and Idea Pasha (guitarist) was present to enliven the country music industry. Mily itself was only formed at the end of 2020. While the song Jangan Buru-Buru was released on January 30, 2021.

Mily band has a unique history because it was formed during the Covid-19 pandemic. When all activities are limited during the pandemic, Mily wants to bring a new spirit to the sweet pop music genre they offer.

"We just released the single Don't Rush Buru. This song is about love, love that tells the love of boys and girls. A couple whose girl has feelings for her, but the guy takes too long to answer. Then the girl quickly decided that her boyfriend did not like her," chia said while playing with VOI, in Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, March 29.

"So this song gives a message not to rush to take a stance or action. The one that nyiptain Cia, that time again gathered. Actually, cia told me about his personal life, only he didn't want to do it. Finally made a song aja. Finally become Love Do Not Rush," said Idea Pasha.

Not only through songs that give a cheerful feel through lyrics and music, Mily wants to affirm the spirit of sharing the joy they bring through their performances.  In every performance, Chia always prepares costumes that are colorful and very teeny concept.

"Indeed the concept of Mily is pengin something different, cheerful, colorful. So if anyone listens to Mily's songs, you can bring a cheerful atmosphere. If anyone sees a colorful look, mily will remember. We want Mily to have her own identity," idea said.

Joshua felt quite heavy initially preparing for a different look every day. Fortunately, as a professional model, Chia has qualified experience in fashion.

"It's a challenge for every moment what we are looking for a matching costume, sewarna. About this most chatty shirt Chia. We as men just follow suit," Joshua said.

Another element that makes Mily different is the presence of saxophone as one of the musical elements in Mily. Joshua feels lucky to be able to join the saxophone he blows.

"So actually I was the last to join. Meet him on social media, instagram. Why is there a saxophone because there is a new nuance that sweet so identical to the inflatable instrument. I happened to be able to play an inflatable instrument," he said.

Chia and Idea had already imagined a saxophone player when intending to form the band Mily. They're looking for the right player until they meet Joshua.

"In Mily emang pengin something sweet why not add saxophone players, we continue to look around and finally meet this kak Jo Kres,"Said Chia.

Putting three heads together in one Mily band certainly needs an adjustment process. A love of music that unites them. "We all have different musical backgrounds. That adjustment started with music being a universal language. From a different background and then a new work was born through the band mily," said Idea.

The COVID-19 pandemic could be a blessing for Mily. Having enough time together during the pandemic, Joshua, Idea, and Chia maximize the potential to make the work.

"Precisely because of the pandemic we gather. From this pandemic we have quite a lot of inhibits to get out, but we believe it will all be beautiful in time," said Joshua.

Chia agreed on it. "So actually pandemic is not an obstacle for us to work. Because wherever we are whatever the condition yes we can work, finally become Mily like this," he recalled.

"Our differences are distance, because our locations are different. Make meeting it difficult, only we keep communication and almost a schedule match,"Chia added.

Not wanting to stop working, Mily has prepared a new song. "We again prepare the second, third song. If you can make an album," chia hope optimistic.

As a new band, Mily certainly has her own challenges. They need to be different in order to be known faster.

"If we say a special genre, we're sweet pop. Not closing the possibility in the future we have new music because we are really open. For this first song for example we sweet pop, but the backsound we use electronic music. So from the first single we have several different genres and musicalities," said Idea.

There's nothing impossible in this world, that's the belief of mily's three band members. They believe Mily will grow up and live long.

"If you say sure must be sure, because Mily has something different. From our appearance aja no one colourfull rich us. The genre of pop sweet is different, we also work hard, our struggle is also from the start of training, build chemistry," joshua said.

"And we fit that pandemic we believe just wasted time to build trust. The term when there is no big event, we often meet, chat, we believe something we fight for will have a good result," added Chia.

In fact, Idea's belief in Mily's future was redeemed at the expense of her permanent job. "Yesterday had a job at one of the labels, I said pengin work again. If while working so not freely. So I decided to quit my job so I could get lelusa. It's better to take the time," Idea said.

Of course they hope Mily can be a place of work that long life. "We want Mily long life, want everyone to be happy and happy if with the song Mily. We want to work to please the hearts of many people," he explained.

"If I want a duet with Armand Maulana and Kaka Slank. The character of their voice never changes. The older the more mature," Joshua said. Idea hopes Mily continues to work, can color Indonesian music. "Hopefully accepted by the community and can feel what we feel from our songs.
