Orphan 3 To Be Produced, Isabelle Furhman Returns To The Role Of Iconic Characters

JAKARTA - The Orphan horror film franchise is confirmed to continue into the third film. Lionsgate as the production house reportedly approved his third film with the same director and lead.

Isabelle Furhman will return to play her iconic character, Esther. Director William Brent Bell and writer David Coggeshall are joining this production again.

Apart from these three informations, it is not yet known what plots are displayed in this third film.

"With the success of the first two films and a thrilling story, we believe that Orphan 3 is a film that fans and new fans should watch," Norman Golightly of Dark Castle quoted Variety as saying.

The film Orphan, which was first released in 2009, became a hit after showing it in theaters. The film tells the story of a married couple who adopt a 9-year-old child who turns out to be keeping terror. The film earned 125 million US dollars for the entire show.

Departing from this success, Lionsgate made the film Orphan: First Kill which is the prequel of the original film. This film focuses on the character Esther, played by Fuhrman, who tries to run away from a psychiatrist by pretending to be the daughter of a wealthy family.

However, Esther's disguise did not go smoothly because she faced a mother who was trying to protect her family.

The film premieres in 2022 and earned $45 million worldwide. The film also goes straight to Paramount +.
