"Preparations for the success of the event have been carried out carefully. The carnival participants will appear with various costumes that highlight the creativity and uniqueness of batik motifs," he said.

Sabaryo said that until the closing of registration, there were 37 participants consisting of eight elementary schools, 10 junior high schools, five high schools, and 14 participants from the general category would enliven the event.

In addition, he said, the Batik Night Carnaval 2024 activity will also be attended by a number of regional apparatus organizations that will feature various unique batik costumes.

He said the Batik Night Carnival was a relevant event to showcase the charm of Pekalongan's batik collaboration with world culture.

"The city of Pekalongan, which is already known as part of the World Creative City network, has made this carnival a stage to show the existence of batik in the eyes of the international community," he said.

According to him, 70 percent of all carnival participant costumes must use written batik or stamps with typical Pekalongan motifs such as Jlamprang, Buketan, Tiga Negeri, Liris, and Benji.

"The other 30 percent of costumes are allowed to use supporting materials. Participants are also allowed to add lighting elements to costumes and are required to make a brief description of the costume themes worn," he said.
