After The Appearance Of Chinese Food And Property, Drakor Joseon Exorcist Canceled The Show

JAKARTA - Today, Friday, March 26, the SBS television station decided to cancel the broadcast of the Korean drama Joseon Exorcist after several controversies this week.

"Even though we were worried about the financial situation between the television station and the production company, SBS felt the need to take responsibility as a public television station and we announced that we decided to cancel the program."

In the statement, SBS claims to have paid the broadcast rights fee and the filming process has been running by 80 percent.

Previously, the first episode of Joseon Exorcist aired on March 22. But only two episodes have been aired, in fact there are many criticisms related to property and food from China which are suspected of being a deviation from Korean history.

SBS has already apologized and explained the use of these properties, but the criticism grew when episode two featured many elements from Chinese origin. Then, the name of the character used is the name of the original character in the Joseon dynasty, so that the netizen feels there is a deviation in terms of the story.

South Korean netizens make a petition at the Blue House asking to stop the broadcast of the Joseon Exorcist drama. Not only that, scriptwriters and directors also experience blasphemy because they are not careful in writing the script.

Some sponsors also withdrew their advertisements and did not get permission to shoot on set, making re-shooting a difficult choice.
