Exclusive Nayla Purnama Fights For Justice For Vina Through Film

JAKARTA - Film is not only a means of entertainment, but film is also a form of information and struggle against an issue. The struggle can be conveyed by anyone, including Nayla D. Purnama who plays the main role of Vina: Before 7 Days.

Vina: Before 7 Days is an adaptation of a true story that happened under the same name. Since this production was announced, this film has drawn cons from a number of netizens. But what about the counter, because Nayla has a different purpose when joining this film.

When selected as Vina, Nayla had the opportunity to chat with Vina's family. How surprised the actress who was born on May 15 was when she saw the grandmother's response from the deceased.

"They see that I look similar to the deceased and of course help the film so that people feel close to Vina, especially for example, the person is similar to the original. When I met his family myself, I couldn't help but cry," said Nayla.

Especially when talking to his grandmother. His grandmother said 'You are like my grandson.' It's just that the deceased is slightly taller than me," he continued.

Instead of feeling isolated, Nayla admitted that she was greatly helped by Vina's family. He admitted that Vina's family shared many stories about the deceased with Nayla. The point of view of his family members made Nayla impressed with Vina's family who welcomed him well.

"I had a chance to chat with his grandmother, he was the person who could be said to be the closest to the deceased and I could say he was quite close because we had dinner before the shooting process. I also talked to his father, mother, sister of the deceased too and I got quite a lot of character research about the deceased from the family," said Nayla.

Every time they talk to their brother or mother of the deceased, it's really sad. Because every time they look at me, he says, they remember the deceased. Finally, during the launching trailer yesterday, the late Almarhumah's father didn't want to enter, watching the trailer because his voice was very similar to the time it was viral," he said, happy to present Vina's character.

The 16-year-old actor admitted that the voice in the trailer was the real voice. He understands that the family was surprised by Nayla's voice as Vina. Nayla, who is still a teenager, also admitted that she wanted to help fight for Vina's case, who had not yet reached the end.

"The reason they agreed to this film was made so that the 3 perpetrators who were still on the loose were immediately given justice because this story was already in 2016 but until now the perpetrators have been released. Hopefully the case can be brought to be aware of the existence of this case and Indonesian law cares more," explained Nayla.

Vina's case shocked the public because of the tragic fate of Vina and her boyfriend, Rizky, who died as a result of a heinous act by a group of motorcycle gangs. In 2016, Vina was reported to have died in a traffic accident but when the police conducted an investigation, they found a number of irregularities.

Nayla, who said that 3 perpetrators had not been found, hoped that this film would be a way for the public to talk about this case again and could especially arrest the perpetrators. Therefore, when he found out that the film he was starring in became a controversy, he was confused.

"Regarding the lack of empathy for all kinds, the purpose from the beginning was to make a film, whether it was not for exploitation or whatever because the story of the deceased was also quite tragic. Back again, the goal is to make this a good thing, especially since the family agrees and with this film, many people learned from the story of the deceased," said Nayla Denny Purnama, owner of the full name.

"So yes, you haven't watched it, it's better to watch it first and then you can comment," he said.

Nayla Purnama still needed a long journey, but the woman who was in high school expressed her love for films, especially the horror genres she starred in.

Actually, I played drama films several times, but it turned out that the end of the day I found pleasure in filming horror films because I like challenges. Every time there is a horror film, I read the script, what new challenges are there in this film. If it's interesting, I take it so on average it's in horror films. Only if there is a drama, I don't think about it but still read the script so it depends on the script," he said.

"If shooting the drama is more mental, so our emotions are really mixed up and I can say drama films are not too much physical while filming horror is our physical because of the dominance of horror, it must be more frequent to finish in the morning because shooting horror at night. (Horor) there are more physical challenges such as disiling, flying from everywhere, only two of them are fun to live, so I also want to try everything," continued Nayla.

His name may have only recently received attention, but Nayla D. Purnama has started his acting since he was in elementary school. Starting from a small role, now Nayla is trusted to play the main character, including in his latest film.

What I like about acting is the shooting process because I just like playing characters that are not myself. Every time I get a new character, that's what makes me happy. I have to succeed in making this character so that you can believe it," he said.

"It's a long journey even though I know this is still the starting point of my career, I can grow even bigger later, but for me to be involved in Vina's project to become Vina it was a big opportunity for me until I had time to talk to my mother, my face on the poster and this is the real first time. I think all work must be up and down, I didn't arrive like this. Casting keeps failing, it's normal. So after I'm at the point now more grateful because of the long process, "he said again.

His growing career coincided with the support he got from his family and school. Nayla admitted that he was still actively attending formal school and even continued to do tasks and take the exam. He did not want his struggle as an actress to be in vain, as the struggle he tried to present through his latest film. He also tried not to rule out his education for career or vice versa.

"I know it's still a process that there are still many trips that have to go through. Hopefully Nayla in the next 5 years can be more grateful and everything you want can be achieved even though it's not achieved, but it's okay, it's called life. I don't have a specific purpose. I'm a person who lives today, so I rarely think about the future or the past. just think about today to be finished well, so hopefully I will remain that way," said Nayla.

Ending the conversation, Nayla hopes for his contribution to Vina: Before 7 Days reflects her struggle to help Vina's case get justice.

"Hopefully with you watching this film will be more concerned, especially about the 3 topics we carry, namely harassment, bullying, and motorcycle gangs. You also have to know that the impact of the third is great for us and the fact that all of this is still happening in our environment today. That must be cared for and ended as soon as possible. Hopefully, the 3 perpetrators can be arrested quickly because one of the goals is that the family agrees with this film," he said again.
