First In The World, Compact Twins Sex-Change Operation

JAKARTA - Two teenage boys perform sex-change operations at the same time. This is the first time in the world.

Mayla Phoebe de Rezende and her sister Sofia Albuquerck (19) underwent surgery in the municipality of Blumenau in southern Brazil on February 13 and 14.

The operation went well and they are now enjoying life as women. The two then described their first shower session after genital surgery with the word "magic".

"We always do everything together and we recently fulfilled our dream of having sex-change surgery and becoming the world's first transgender twin to do so", Mayla told local media reported by the Daily Star, Friday, February 26.

"There are many transgender women who have given up because of waiting lists that are too long in the public health system and there is only one private clinic that does the procedure in Blumenau," she continued.

These twins were born male but always identified as female.

When Mayla saw the male sex organs she was born with, she felt that they were not hers. To make matters worse, Mayla and her sister are often bullied for being transgender.

"At school, it was very difficult. Some classmates even threw notebooks over my head", recalls Mayla.

However, Mayla and her sister didn't care about how society treated them. Now, both of them are living a new life as women with the support of their families.

"Our family always know, we are women", concluded Mayla.
