Girls' Generation's Taeyeon's Father Dies On Princess's Birthday

JAKARTA - Today, February 9th, Taeyeon is supposed to release a new song to celebrate her birthday. A series of teasers in the form of videos and photos have been released a few days before the big day, but everything has to be delayed because his father passed away.

Reporting from Naver, Taeyeon's father reportedly died of a heart attack. This news was also confirmed by SM Entertainment as Taeyeon's agency. SM wrote:

Before releasing Happy, Taeyeon took off an interview video for her birthday. The video shows Girls' Generation's leader answering questions about her latest song. The song Happy is about doo-wop and R&B about spending time with people you like. He also sang a little part of the song.

Actually the song Happy was about to be included in the repackage album titled Purpose which was released earlier this year. However, because this song has a different color compared to others, he decided to release this song as a birthday present for fans.
