Kanye West Sued For Not Paying Sunday Service Performers And Crew Wages

JAKARTA - Singer Kanye West was sued for 30 million US dollars after it was found that he did not pay the performers and backstage staff for the Sunday Service event he has been holding since 2019.

Launching Page Six today, Monday, February 1, around 500 performers and 300 backstage workers were involved in Kanye West's event which combines Christian worship with live performances.

Workers claim Kanye West does not pay employees on time and that the overtime pay, consumption and business expenses are legally entitled to employees.

Attorney Frank Kim focused on 500 performers while Harris & Ruble took care of 300 backstage workers.

Raina Leon as hair stylist and crew Michael Pearson said Kanye West did not arrange the payment as promised. Pearson also said some of the crew had to sit on the floor during the 10-day appearance because not many seats were provided.

A source told The Sun that Kanye West is a person who always asks to make his wishes come true when he does something. "Anything with film or music production, they do art first."

The Sunday Service stage is an event hosted by Kanye West. Starting January 6, 2019, West holds Sunday Service every week in various places.

On several occasions, Kanye West invited several singers to appear on stage.

They also heard sermons from pastors and paid tribute to several musicians. Kanye West has not responded to all the claims made by the performers and crew.
