JAKARTA - Gary Holt (Slayer, Exodus) and Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance) have been friends over the past few years. Recently, Iero presented one of his guitars to Holt.

Excited Holt shows off his new instrument in an Instagram post. "Do a little guitar swapping with my friend @frankieromustdie," wrote Holt. See the full post below:

Holt's love for My Chemical Romance was revealed in 2019 when commenting on Loudwire's post celebrating the anniversary of My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade album.

Holt appeared in the comments section to state, "It's one of my favorite records of all time. Seriously. Facts. It's a masterpiece."

The guitarist later spoke to Loudwire about his admiration for the album stating, "I thought every song was amazing, very ambitious, and I heard Queen, Pink Floyd, and Cheap Trick nuances on it."

He explained that he was initially moved by the music from My Chemical Romance through her daughter. He went on to add, "Love their guitar work, deadly notes, and good music. There are too many great songs in The Black Parade to choose from, but my favorite song is The Sharpest Lives".

Since Slayer said goodbye in 2019, Holt has returned to Exodus. The group started working on a new album last fall. The album titled Persona Non-Grata is scheduled for release in the summer of 2021.

As for Iero, he has been quite busy over the past year even though the My Chemical Romance reunion tour was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
