Creator Of The Wall Of Sound Recording Method, Phil Spector Dies Amid 19 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - Legendary music producer, Phil Spector died. Spector died Saturday, January 16 at Stockton's California Health Care Facility, at the age of 81.

One thing that can illustrate Spector's specialty is perhaps how he pioneered the 'Wall of Sound'. Through this production, Spector became one of the most influential music producers in music history.

Wall of Sound is Spector's way of creating the illusion of solid orchestration by multiplying the same instrument and on a record. Spector will then play the entire recording of the instrument simultaneously.

This style was extraordinary he applied to hit songs belonging to Ronettes, the Righteous Brothers, to The Beatles. Spector's death was confirmed from a California Department of Correction and Rehabilitation press release.

Spector died amid a 19-year prison sentence. He is charged with the murder of actress Lana Clarkson in 2009.

In a press release quoted by Billboard, it was explained that Spector died at 6:35 p.m. local time. Various allegations arise regarding Spector's death.

The San Joaquin County medical examiner has not commented on the cause of Spector's death. He was declared dead due to natural causes. However, some media have reported that Spector died from COVID-19.

TMZ reported that Spector suffered from complications related to COVID-19 after being transferred from his prison cell to the hospital. Spector was also reported to have been diagnosed with COVID-19 four weeks ago.

He was treated briefly, before being sent back to his cell when his condition improved and he was deemed stable enough to return to prison.
