Exclusive Yasamin Jasem Exploration Maximum In Horror Films

JAKARTA - Yasamin Jasem shows his acting skills through the film Khanzab. This horror film directed by Anggy Umbara is one of the local films that airs and enlivens Lebaran. Khanzab successfully reached one million viewers and set a new record for the release of local films this year.

Yasamin plays Rahayu, a child who is traumatized by watching his father's death live.

People are confused about how to respond, especially since their father is accused of being the shaman of witchcraft. "No one helped Rahayu and validated what she saw was scary and was instead stressed and entitled to it," Yasamin Jasem's story about his role.

"He became revenge and angry and the effect on the family was not easy first, he could only cheer up with his half-sister, she was still small," he said.

In the first half of this year, the woman who was born on February 21 starred in a number of horror films, including Khanzab. Despite the fast process, Yasamin felt that Khanzab's story was the medium to explore the story he wanted.

"I saw that there was a writer Dirmawan Hatta in the previous project with Uncle Anggy and at first I saw what Khanzab was because he was not familiar. Oh Khanzab, there was indeed something disturbing us during prayer but as far as I know, I didn't show it, but because of the need for entertainment and the relationship story to the social side, people are under pressure from praying," Yasamin said.

"At my age, I just want 20, I think even though I've been in a horror film, it doesn't hurt to explore. From some horrors that have been offered to me, there are different ways of delivering, the characteristics of the story and this is different from the character point of view, it's also very different," he continued.

Unlike the previous horror film (Mangkujiwo 2), Yasamin Jasem's character is widely associated with the horror element. He also later admitted that he had received many offers of acting in horror projects even though he was closer to the family or drama genre.

"Maybe because lately it's been horror everywhere and I feel like a lot of films are offered at most horror. In fact, romance, family dramas are rarely almost non-existent, indeed mostly offered horror and I see that at my age horror can indeed explore many characters, so because there is an opportunity here so why don't you just try it? " he said with a laugh.

As the public is wondering, Yasamin Jasem is also curious about why horror is so popular in Indonesia. He also explained his analysis that horror films display phenomena that rarely occur in the environment, different from dramas or comedy.

"I thought why I didn't research with people, I asked why I liked the horror genre. I thought I wanted to ask all the horror movie viewers. It's just that maybe from my photos, if in horror films, many may not feel it or a lot so they want to know oh, if it's the same in horror, it's not the same as what they might have experienced," he said.

"The drama film continues to be comedy, it seems that in our life is close, meaning that in the family there can be drama, in friendship there can be drama, in class environments often comedy," continued Yasamin.

"If there is a horror experience, not everyone can experience it. So you can feel it or actually, it seems that no one wants to feel that there is only an offer to experience an incident like that, so it's just different from everyday life," said the 19-year-old woman explaining.

However, the former child actress said that her involvement in a number of horror films was not only colored with fun, but rather by draining energy. He felt that filming horror was draining all his energy and mentality during filming.

"I think shooting horror can be done in one moment, everything is from sound, tired, from the body tired from the tired mind, from the tired heart, sometimes made one moment everyone immediately ha," said Yasamin Jasem.

"Yesterday I talked with several casts that took part in horror films, some agreed because the emotions we brought when filming were definitely negative, so that's what makes us not in the mood first and immediately relax interactions or let's joke so we can be neutral," continued Yasamin.

When filming Khanzab, the actress who is familiarly called Yayas found a new challenge. Sounds simple, but Yayas feels softlens changing for one scene is an experience.

Many stages from Rahayu required him to change the softlens so maybe from the color changing for a long time the softlens diameter until full one eye was an experience. One scene for changing three softlens and per softlens was taken from start to finish the scene three times. That's the first time," said Yasamin.

The figure of Rahayu who he played was experiencing an inner turmoil because he felt various mystical events since his father left. This change made Rahayu have to struggle with the terror she felt.

Meanwhile, challenges were also felt in collaborating with Anggy Umbara. He feels that Anggy is an all-out director where he likes to take pictures from various angles and never shrinks a part of the story.

Even the scene that we read is only oh short, it turns out that when it's done it's still from various angles, and because horror is also timing, it has to fit, technically it has to fit. That's what is sometimes confused too. This is teamwork so as much as possible we have to keep supporting other coachs," he said.

In the film Khanzab, Yasamin Jasem is reunited with Tika Brahani. The two of them have competed acting in a film and soap opera. Yasamin was also happy to find similarities with Tika which made the horror shooting still fun.

"Our Jokes continues to connect when we read and shoot and we have the same thing when outside the set trying to joke so that the negative emotions don't get carried on the set. He said that if we have a lot of blanks or bad feelings, we can easily influence them, so let's joke so we get excited," he explained enthusiastically.

In addition, Yasamin Jasem feels that there are many varietys of horror stories that are better than before. The combination of genres that were once considered inappropriate can now be an option for the audience, such as horror thriller or comedy horror.

Even so, Yasamin Jasem wants to try other genres that are still rare in Indonesia. The two genres Yasamin really wanted were musicals and fantasy.

"If you look at it in general, maybe people will know me, if not from family stories, it's horror, so actually only those two have been prominent lately. There are many other genres that I haven't held yet," said Yasamin.

"From the beginning, Yayas's dreams were small until now, what he wanted to try was a musical whose full film even though I was embarrassed to sing and couldn't dance widely. Just be smart first. Who knows," he said, laughing.

"If you have a fantasy, maybe it's like Avatar or Narnia who suddenly enters the world. That's why you want to try the explore because I have so much access to Narnia, if you raid people, the house is hiding in a cupboard. I hope there is a snow forest, candied, so music and fantasy," he explained.

Just starting his maturity, Yasamin Jasem hopes that he can develop his career, as well as Indonesian cinemas supported by spectators. Not grandiose, he wants the public to be able to support by watching Indonesian films in theaters.

"The most important thing is that hopefully Indonesian films will be more advanced, so the audience of Indonesian films. Please really support it because I think from the simple things watching Indonesian films can help here and there. More and more people are getting more and more daring to take the chance to make better and more Indonesian films," said Yasamin.

"Moreover, seeing that I want to be more enthusiastic than Indonesian films. Hopefully I can play a role until I get old. Amen," he said smiling ending the conversation that afternoon.
