Quiet Riot Concocts The First Album Since The Death Of Drummer Frankie Banali

JAKARTA - Guitarist Quiet Riot Alex Grossi confirmed plans for the band's new album.

The last album containing fresh material from this veteran rock group is Hollywood Cowboys, which was released in 2019 and marked drummer Frankie Banali's last album before his death.

Banali, who joined Quiet Riot in 1982 and played on the phenomenal album Metal Health released a year later died in August last year after battling for 16 months with pancreatic cancer.

Metal Health album itself is the first heavy metal studio album to top the Billboard album charts.

The surviving member of Quiet Riot said that before his death, Banali asked the band to continue and keep its music and legacy alive.

Grossi then touched on the possibility of Quiet Riot making new music in a recent interview with Rock Chat With Trace.

"There's talk of working on a lot of new things ... Maybe there's a new album. There must be lots of songs Frankie left that could be used for this album, and that's great - it's in the process of being worked on before he got sick. What I want to say is stay tuned, but there will definitely be new music from Quiet Riot, "said Grossi.

Quiet Riot plays their first concert after Banali's death on October 9 at the Grand Stage Amphitheater near Urich, Missouri. At that time, the drum position was filled by Johnny Kelly (Danzig, Typo O Negative).
