JAKARTA - The Film Tornado Tali Pocong will hit Indonesian cinemas starting April 6, 2023. This film is said by netizens to have a pattern of sensual horror films in the 2000s era. However, the actors in the film Pelet Tali Pocong, Emma Waroka, Emil Kusumo and Keira Shabira rejected this assumption.

"Many have asked that the title is similar to the old esek-esek films, here we can be sure that this film does not have a sensual element. This title is just like the original pure horror," said Emil Kusumo at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Tuesday, April 4.

Keira Shabira herself is committed not to play films that highlight the side of sexuality. "It seems that the three of us have the principle of not wanting to take the film that prioritizes sexuality, so it exposes sexualism," said Keira.

Becoming the debut of the horror film for Emma Waroka, the film Pelet Tali Pocong passed the sensor for 13 years and over. Emma emphasized that the sensor is a strong proof that there is nothing for the sensuality to be highlighted in this film.

"This is only 13 years of rating, teenagers can watch it, it means it's safe until the children get permission to watch. There is a scene in the bedroom but it's far from sensual, what's there is goosebumps," added Emma Waroka.

This film tells the story of Adam (Emil Kusumo) who is captivated by Susan (Emma Waroka), the widow of the tea factory owner she works for. Because her love was rejected and humiliated by Susan, Adam replied to her heartache by performing the pellet ritual she had studied before, using pocong rope as a medium.

After Susan lost due to the pellet, Adam met his school friend, Anissa (Kiera Sharia), the son of Ustad Bahri (Abey Ghifran). Adam, who likes Anissa, also tried to pin Anissa. But Anissa refuses to love Adam rawly.
