JAKARTA - Ahead of the broadcast of Buya Hamka's film, Vino G Bastian made a pilgrimage to the grave of Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah or familiarly called Buya Hamka who was at the Tanah Kusir TPU, South Jakarta.

Vino himself was lined up to play the character Buya Hamka from young times to death, in the film produced by Falcon Pictures with Starvision. With a total film duration of 7 hours, Marsha Timothy's husband underwent the shooting process for 6 months by playing the first Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

Apart from Vino, Donny Damara was also present who also starred in the film, Frederica and Chand Parwez as producers, several representatives of Buya Hamka's extended family and representatives of MUI.

Vino in his remarks before Buya Hamka's grave and those present said that Hamka was a great figure who had done a lot for many things.

"So much to be said. If we remember Buya Hamka with us here, we see in front of us there is a tomb from national warrior figures, great clerics and journalists who have fought for the country, Islam and also his family," said Vino G Bastian in front of Buya Hamka's grave, Thursday, March 30.

The 41-year-old actor hopes that the film he starred in will not only provide entertainment for the Indonesian people. Furthermore, Vino hopes that Buya Hamka can be better known by the world community.

"Hopefully this film will not only provide entertainment, but also spread this great figure. Not only in Indonesia, but also in Malaysia, Brunei to Cairo," said Vino.

"Yesterday I received information that friends in Malaysia were also really waiting for the Buya Hamka film to be shown there," he continued.

After giving his speech, Vino then sprinkled flowers on Buya Hamka's grave, followed by sowing flowers at the graves of Hamka's wife, Siti Raham and Siti Chadidjah.

Irma Fahri, the grandson of Buya Hamka representing her extended family, expressed her gratitude. For him, it is an honor when his grandfather's story can be shown in film works.

"It is an honor for us as a family, especially the family of the late Buya Hamka. I am very surprised after seeing the response of the community after the launch of yesterday's trailer, many welcomed it, thank God," said Irma.

Meanwhile, Frederica said that after the trailer release on March 23, Buya Hamka will hold a gala premiere on April 9, which will be followed by the premiere of all Indonesian cinemas on April 20.

"We are happy to see the big interest after we launched the trailer. That way we convey that we will hold the Buya Hamka film premiere simultaneously in 18 cities throughout Indonesia," concluded Frederica, producer of the film Buya Hamka.
