Remembering The Filming Period With Mat Solar, Latief Sitepu: Playing A Role

JAKARTA - Latief Sitepu and Mat Solar have played together in the soap opera Tukang Burum Naik Haji. Latief Sitepu plays Haji Muhidin, while Mat Solar plays Haji Sulam.

For Latief, five years with Mat Solar on set is an experience that is always remembered. Especially, given Mat Solar's current condition, which suffered from stroke and difficulty communicating and moving his body.

Latief remembers the actor who also played a role in the Bajaj Bajuri sitcom as a figure full of jokes on the set. "I joked, he's a joke, he's not responsible, he's shortened too. It's like that, but it's good," said Latief Sitepu in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

The Karo-blooded actor also admitted that he had a close relationship with Mat Solar. Moreover, he often competed in direct acting for five years in soap opera Tukang Bubut Naik Haji. Not getting close anymore, just five years with him, fighting each day in his film, he said.

However, Latief Sitepu admitted that he did not know of Mat Solar's irregular eating habits, which the family said was one of the causes of the actor suffering from a stroke. As far as Latief's knowledge, Mat Solar went to the shooting location just to work, and immediately returned home after he finished his job.

The Haji Muhidin actor also admitted that he was very surprised when he was first told that Mat Solar had a stroke. "Yes, it's no longer surprising, his name is funny, it's energetic, it's moving amazingly, suddenly, so we were surprised too," said Latief.

Latief himself admitted that he had visited Mat Solar several times at his house. He is also concerned about the current condition of his colleague. Latief, who is still active in acting, feels lost due to the absence of a figure as energetic as Mat Solar.

"Yes, how can you not be concerned, he is really an extraordinary artist, how is Bajaj Bajuri, extraordinary. But because he is no longer visible, we feel lacking, less stable, because he is more senior than others. Young people are also okay, good, but because he is older and legends, so, how about it, we must be lacking," concluded Latief Sitepu.
