Ikranagara Suffers Stroke Before Finally Taking Last Breath

JAKARTA - The death of senior actor Ikranagara is a deep sorrow for the world of actors. The actor died at the age of 79 after years of battling his illness.

The colleague of the late Ikranegara, Evry Joe as the Head of Public Relations (Union of Indonesian Film Artists) of PARAFI expressed his deep sorrow over the departure of the actor Hasyim Asy'ari in the film Sang Kiai (2013).

Evry admitted that he received the sad news from his seniors while studying at the Jakarta Arts Institute (IKJ) on Monday, March 6, evening.

"I got the sad news from senior IKJ Mr. Kumala Atmojo and also from his friend, fellow theater actor Niniek L Karim. The sad news was actually from his son Bang Ikranegara, Innosanto," said Evry Joe when contacted on Tuesday, March 7.

Evry Joe said that the late Ikranagara had lived in the United States. However, due to his illness, Ikranagara decided to return to his homeland in Bali, and stay there until the end of his life.

The chairman of the PARFI Public Relations said that Ikranagara had been suffering from disease in recent years. "His 4-year illness has been suffering from a stroke and he has moved to Bali because he originally came to Bali," said Evry Joe.

Evry Joe also representing PARFI also expressed his deepest condolences for the passing of the late Ikranegara forever. For him, the late Ikranegara is a great actor in the world of Indonesian cinema.

"We from the Executive Board of PARFI express our deepest condolences. May his deeds of worship be accepted and his works become a field of charity," concluded Evry Joe.
