Married Simplely In KUA, Armand Maulana: Recipient Money For Buying A Home

JAKARTA - The vocalist of the band GIGI, Armand Maulana, participated in the wedding trend without holding a big party, aka only done simply at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA). On Instagram, Armand uploaded a photo of his marriage to Dewi Gita.

"Following ahhh.. the trend of marriage at KUA.. I and @dewigita01 married at KUA Geger Kalong on the night of January 11, 1994... Not wearing a big party.. It's very simple, Alhamdulillah, now we have lived together for 29 years," wrote Armand Maulana on the @armandmaulana04 account quoted Thursday, February 9.

The upload, which is popular on social media about getting married at the KUA, apparently reminds Armand Maulana of memories when he married singer Dewi Gita in the past. Shortly after the issue of getting married at the KUA went viral, the musician uploaded a photo of his marriage on January 11, 1994 or 29 years ago.

In the photo, Armand Maulana looks simple wearing a shirt and skullcap, while his wife Dewi Gita is working with a white feel. In front of them, there were several burning candles that were lit with cigarette windows.

The incident in the photo occurred at night at KUA Gegerkalong, Bandung. Suddenly the unique upload got a lot of responses from netizens and until this writing was made as many as 38 thousand people responded positively.

Armand admitted that he deliberately uploaded the momentum photo because he saw an upload circulating on his social media account regarding a simple married couple in front of the KUA.

This father of one child responded positively to the many comments made by netizens who wanted to have a simple marriage at the KUA.

"Yes, of course I feel happy because there are many comments that want to come along like that (marriage at the KUA). That means, there is one kindness that is shared and I am happy that it turns out to be a good input for my friends," said Armand Maulana when met at a studio in South Jakarta, Wednesday, February 8.

The vocalist whose full name is Tubagus Armand Maulana remembers his first wedding ceremony and the agreement to save money to hold a wedding reception in the future. But over time, both of them agreed not to do this because the news of their marriage had spread so widely.

At that time, only the musicians or singers in the small circle of Armand and Dewi's friendship knew that they were legal as a husband and wife. Luckily, said Armand, his colleagues understood and chose to remain silent.

"Initially, we kept marriage a secret for about 8 years with considerations at that time when the public found out that their idol had a boyfriend, even married, it would affect popularity," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

Armand added that at that time both he and Dewi Gita were pursuing a career in the entertainment world in the country, aka not having a well-established life.

"We really live together, we don't have a house yet. We are still in the same room in the Tebet area. Until one day there was a tabloid whose term investigated the truth of our marriage and yes, we finally opened it to the public after a long time it was kept," recalls Armand.

The funny thing is, continued Armand, some of the mass media had reported oblique news about their togetherness which was deemed inappropriate.

"There were unclear gossip newspapers that thought we were in an unauthorized relationship. Fortunately, such news sometimes appears, sometimes disappears. We are still indifferent and Bismillah just lives it," explained Armand.

However, the musician who was born in Bandung, April 4, 1971, actually saw the positive side of his marriage which did not want to become public consumption.

"At first, right, we did save for the reception. But because everyone already knew that we were married, so what else has been done with the reception. We used the money to buy a house. This incident had blessings too," said Armand with a laugh.
