Debut Story

Growing up as Kim Taehyung, V was born and lives in the city of Daegu. After accompanying an audition friend, Taehyung took part in the audition and the Big Hit Entertainment agency contacted him. He also followed the process smoothly and became one of Big Hit's weapons when debuting BTS because of his handsome visuals and good vocals.

Reportedly, because he was afraid of being taken by other agencies, V's existence in BTS's debut was hidden from the public.

Try acting

His first role was in the Korean drama Hwarang from KBS in 2016-2017. He played Han Sung, the youngest member of the Hwarang group. With his little experience, V was able to liven up the atmosphere of filming Hwarang.

That role made him closer to other artist friends. It's not uncommon when they meet outside of the set, they like to interact in front of the camera. Through the same drama, V also sang the song It's Definitely You.
