JAKARTA - The Strokes shared the initial version of The Modern Age from their upcoming box set The Singles - Volume 01.
Titled The Modern Age (Rough Trade Version), this version was first released on an EP (mini album) of the same name through the Rough Trade in January 2001, six months before the release of their debut album Is This It.
This song also opens the curtain of their new box set which will be released on February 24 through RCA Records/Legacy Recordings.
This collection features every 7-inch single from their debut, the 2003 Room On Fire and First Impressions of Earth (2006) follow-up to the rare B sides of the original single release.
The ten singles will be printed on a disk, with cover artwork of each original release replicated in the package.
Meanwhile, music videos for ten A-side, including Hard To Explain, Last Nite, Reptilia, airbox, and Heart In A Cage, were also recently released in HD (high definition) format.
Meanwhile, The Strokes has just finished recording sessions for their new album with legendary producer Rick Rubin in the mountains of Costa Rica. Guitarist Albert way Jr. discuss the "magic" experience of working with Rubin.
"I don't think if I told you what it looked like, you would fully understand the 'tle' where we are and how to record like that," he was quoted as saying by NME, Monday.
It feels very touching that one of his favorite recording experiences is what he just experienced now.
