Avatar: The Way of Water (20th Century Fox)

JAKARTA - Avatar: The Way of Water dominates the box office in early 2023. This film managed to rank the most successful film of all time with US$1.7 billion or equivalent to Rp26 trillion.

James Cameron as the director revealed plans for the production of the fourth and fifth films. He himself had expected this film to reap success quickly in theaters.

"It looks like the momentum the film currently has could have had success in a few days, so I can't avoid this, I have to do another sequel," James Cameron said in a recent interview.

Avatar 3 has been produced along with a sequel. Meanwhile, Cameron plans the Avatar franchise to continue until the fifth part.

I know what I want to do for six to seven years. We'll be fine. I'm sure we'll have discussions with top brass at Disney about the film plans for Avatar 3, "he said again.

We have recorded and photographed the entire film so now we are in the post-production period to perform the CG magic. and Avatar 4 and 5 are being written. We started the franchise at this point. We started the saga to play a lot of films," he explained.

On the same occasion, James Cameron confirmed rumors that he set a target for selling his film figures in theaters.

I never mention numbers. I'm just saying this will be the best-selling film in history and someone added numbers. Actually the numbers aren't big," he continued.

Avatar 3 reportedly tells of the new Navi clan and has a different nature. Cameron leaked this story in the interview session. He also called the latest Navi clan to come different from the rest of the clan.

The Avatar 3 is projected to hit theaters on December 20, 2024.
