Success On TikTok, Charli D'Amelio Starts A Television Show With Hulu

JAKARTA - Charli D'Amelio, a celebrity with 100 million followers on TikTok will create an exclusive television show with his family, Dixie, Marc, and Heidi.

Titled The D'Amelio Show, the show will be produced by streaming service Hulu and broadcast starting in 2021. The D'Amelio Show will showcase D'Amelio's family life after their two children become popular and maintain family values.

“Two years ago Charli and Dixie D'Amelio were nobody, and now they have 100 million followers who are always watching their activities. Every teenager on social media dreams of becoming famous, but what happens when reality happens? " said Belisa Balaban from Hulu, quoting from Variety today, Monday, December 21st.

Belisa Balaban hopes that this television program can provide a new perspective on two young women living life as internet stars and how parents protect their children from internet bullying.

The D'Amelio Show showcases Charli's journey as a TikTok star and counters online criticism. Likewise Dixie, who has signed a contract with a music label and started a career as a singer in Los Angeles.

"A lot of people look at us from short content for a few minutes and seconds, but we will share a side that you can't see on social media," said Marc D'Amelio, father of Charli and Dixie.

Previously, Hulu announced a number of new exclusive shows, including the television show The Kardashian and Planet Sex with Cara Delevigne. Netizens responded negatively to the announcement of the event The Kardashians considering that Hulu is part of Disney.

The D'Amelio Show will air starting in 2021 on Hulu.
