JAKARTA - The film Qorin is the second horror film, after Inang produced by gaikDN Pictures. Directed by Ginanti Rona and written by the scenario by Laila Nurazizah, Qorin held the Gala Premiere in the Epicentrum area, South Jakarta on Monday, November 28.

Played by Omar Daniel, Zulfa Maharani, Aghniny Haque, Naimma Aljufri, Cindy Nirmala, Putri Ayudya and Mahardika Yusuf, this film presents many elements of horror. Like many other horror films, the mystical narrative that appears will be combined with the existing culture of society.

Not only showing tense things, Qorin will also raise the values of kindness and friendship conveyed through the role of the players in it. This Qorin film is a religious-themed horror film that I first worked on. The theme of qorine raised in this horror film is very interesting, because every human being has its dark side. And qorine is a manifestation of the human dark side in the form of darkness' that appears and then terrorizes humans, "said Ginanti Rona.

The production team represented by Winston Utomo also expressed his enthusiasm for the screening of Qorin, especially since he considered that today's young people have more enthusiasm to watch local films.

We can see that the quality of Indonesian films is increasing, including horror genre films. Through the Indonesia Millennials and Gen-Z Report by IDN Media, we found an interesting fact that 2 out of 3 Millennials and Gen Z prefer local films. We need to welcome this optimism of course by producing more quality work," said Winston Utomo.

Personally, Winston also hopes that the message contained in this film can be delivered well to the audience. "For me personally, Qorin has succeeded in combining elements of horror films that are popular with Indonesian people with important messages about people's lives in Indonesia. Hopefully, the message raised in this film can be received well and entertain film lovers at the end of 2022," he said.

Susanti Dewi as the producer revealed that she personally has an interest in the theme of qorine, and she feels happy to be involved in this project. The story with the theme of qorine has long provoked my curiosity. In this film, I also had the opportunity to collaborate with two great women, Ginanti Rona and Laila Nurazizah, who then made this story develop bigger and with a deeper meaning," he said.

The producer also revealed the meaning of Qorin for himself, and hoped that the film could be accepted by the audience. The film Qorin describes the friendship, the struggle of women, and their courage to fight fear. As a woman in an industry where in fact is dominated by men, these meanings will certainly feel even more special. Hopefully, the film "Qorin can be well accepted by the Indonesian people," he added.
