Choreographer And Actress Ann Reinking Dies

JAKARTA - Broadway star Ann Reinking passed away on Saturday, December 12 Australian time.

Launching The Independent today, Tuesday, Reinking died while visiting family in Seattle. The statement was conveyed by his manager, Lee Gross, without mentioning the cause of Ann Reinking's death.

Ann Reinking is a choreographer and actress who won a Tony Award. Born on November 10, 1949, he started his career through the Broadway stage at the age of 19.

Later, she became a ballet dancer and created dance moves for the musical Chicago. Its choreography won the Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards in 1977.

Ann Reinking has also appeared at the 57th Academy Awards to dance to Phil Collins' song Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now).

In 1998, he directed the musical Fosse as a tribute to choreographer Bob Fosse. Ann Reinking has called Fosse the best dancer in the modern world of jazz. The Fosse / Verdon series also features a character named Ann Reinking, starring Margaret Qualley.

Apart from musicals, Ann Reinking is also involved in the acting world. Some of the films he starred in include Movie Movie in 1978, Annie (1982), Micki + Maude (1984), and The Cosby Show (1987).

Ann Reinking died at the age of 71.
