The Film Avatar Repeated In Cinema, Director James Cameron: Remastering Makes Us Inspired

JAKARTA - Director James Cameron revealed his reason for re-released the film Avatar in theaters this year, or 13 years since the film was launched in 2009. The film will return to theaters in September in 4K High Dynamic Range format.

"This film will look better than ever. And there are so many people out there, new generation of film fans and those who followed from the start. We also just watched the film recently when we completed the entire remastering process, and it fascinated us," said Cameron. from ANTARA, Friday, September 16.

For the Canadian director, the presence of the Avatar world back more than a decade later, supported by the latest technology, is increasingly providing fans with more full film viewing experiences.

"We were really impressed with the appearance of the film -- providing a new film physical experience. We are very excited to share it with people who have, as well as those who have never seen it in theaters," said Cameron.

Since its first release in 2009, Avatar has been seen as a film that is so refreshing and brave, both in terms of story to the use of technology in its time. The film is also considered to have a major influence on modern blockbuster films years later.

"Avatar is definitely not the first film to use the advanced effects computer-generating and so on. And that has become a trend before the Avatar, through the Avatar, and beyond," said Cameron.

The (1997) director believes that digital technology including 3D continues to develop over time. The avatar won the Oscar trophy for the Best Cinematography category, and that is the first time this category has been achieved with a cinematographer with a 3D digital camera.

"And then two of the next three years, the same camera was used by the cinematographers who won the Oscar," he said.

"I think it (the technology) has an impact on the way films are presented which are now being accepted, and become part of the spirit and way of making a work."

Meanwhile, Avatars (2009) starred Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaira, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney mainstay. The film was produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau.

On the other hand, the sequel is titled Avatar: The Way of Water is scheduled to air at the end of this year. With a time setting of more than a decade after the first film event, "Avatar: The Way of Water will tell the story of the family of jake (Jake, Neytiri, and their children), the problems that followed them, the extent to which they went to take care of each other, the battle they fought to stay alive, and the tragedy they experienced.
