Nominated For Best Rock Performance At The Grammy Awards Female Nominated

JAKARTA - The nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards leave not only questions but also surprises. For the first time in Grammy history, only women and bands with female vocalists were nominated for Best Rock Performance.

Her nominations are Fiona Apple with Shameika, Phoebe Bridgers with Kyoto, Haim with The Steps, Brittany Howard with Stay High, Grace Potter with Daylight, and Big Thief with vocalist Adrienne Lenker with Not.

Starting from the legendary soloist Fiona Apple to the band Big Thief to be one of the nominations for Best Rock where usually these nominations are dominated by men.

This year, female musicians also lead the nominations. Beyonce and Dua Lipa received five nominations, while Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish bagged four and three nominations, respectively.

Not only that, Dua Lipa, Haim, and Taylor Swift are also competing for Album of The Year for which their release this year received a nomination.

Haim also received their first Grammy nomination for the first time this year. In addition, Fiona Apple, Phoebe Bridgers, Howard, and Big Thief also competed for Best Rock Song.

With the dominance of women in the Rock category, it breaks the stereotype that rock music can only be played by men.
