This Is The Reason Flight Attendants Must Wear Bright Lipstick During Flights

JAKARTA - Flight attendants often wear bright lipstick during flights. Want to know the reason?

Emirates and Virgin Atlantic employees are often seen wearing red lipstick, while Wizz Air workers tend to wear pink lipstick.

Obviously, the use of lipstick has always had to do with fashion with their uniforms. But as it turns out, makeup also serves an important purpose.

Launching the Daily Star, Wednesday, November 25, Heather Poole, who has been a member of the cabin crew for 20 years, said the bright lipstick helps passengers to read flight attendants' lips during an emergency. This can certainly make a big difference in keeping passengers safe.

In his book Cruising Attitude, the author states: "(Bright colored lipstick) must be worn all the time."

Bright lipstick seems to be serious business in the airline industry and flight attendants can get into trouble if they don't follow the airline's set makeup guidelines.

Heather remembered when a flight attendant dared to wear glossy nude lipstick during a flight. The next day, the mutinous cabin crew was not present the next day.

"We are not surprised by his sudden departure. We do not know whether he quit or he has been fired," continued Heather.

Luckily, Heather always stuck to the lipstick guidelines outlined by her former employer. She says her favorite color is clinique red, which is also worn by celebrities including Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.
