Ten Directors Join In The Anthology Of The Short Picnik Pesona Film

JAKARTA - Vision+ and Palari Films released a poster and video trailer for Piknik Pesona on Wednesday, July 31. Original series Piknik Pesona is an an anthology for ten short films by ten talented young directors who tell various stories from all over Indonesia.

The ten stories presented show cultural diversity in Indonesia from various points of view and the genre of the story. The ten films were titled (s) Aya by director Aditya Ahmad, which featured Lutesha, Bakmi Bangka Heri by director target Benjamin, which featured Brigitta Cynthia. The evacuation of Mama Emola by director Anggun Priambodo, featuring Ricky Malau and Siti Fauziah.

Gendang Renteng by Gianni Fajri, featuring Shenina Cinnamon and Fathia Izzati, Golden Age by M. Reza Fahriyansyah. Jus Nanas Pancake Lapis by Ariani Darmawan, Marsiti and Sapi by Wisnu Surya Pratama, Pecel Kronicel by Gugun Arief, Small Conversation by Tumpal Tampubolon, which features Agnes Naomi, and finally, Abe's Uma de Raffa.

In addition, the anthology of this short film was produced by Reno F. Junirman and Edwin. The good news is that the film Evacuation of Mama Emola or in the international title Evacuation of Mama Emola by Anggun Priambodo won the Jury Prize for Best Short Film at the Sundance Film Festival Asia 2022 which is an award for the Asia Short Film Competition program competition.

Two short films at Piknik Pesona, (s) Aya and Bakmi Bangka Heri or A Trip to Bangka also competed in the Asia Short Film Competition program at the Sundance Film Festival Asia 2022. The enthusiasm of this short film involving ten directors is the first collaboration between Vision+ and Palari Films.

It is an honor for Vision+ to announce our latest project, Piknik Pesona, in collaboration with Palari Films and ten talented directors from all over Indonesia. This is something new for Vision+, where this short film, which is part of our original series, is expected to be released to the international film festival, after the Sundance Film Festival Asia 2022 yesterday. This motivates us to continue to innovate and provide good content quality to viewers," said Clarissa Tanoesoedibjo as Managing Director of Vision+ in Gondangdia, Central Jakarta.

Short films are a medium for filmmakers to express their artistic vision more freely, as well as a place to find their "sound". Therefore, we are very happy that Vision+ gives us the confidence to work together to make ten short films with talented young directors from various regions in Indonesia," said Muhammad Zaidy, Executive Producer of Palari Films.

At this press conference, there were also ten directors involved in Piknik Pesona. They are directors who take part in the industrial realm and are independent for the production of short films and also video music. Some of them, Aditya Ahmad, M. Reza Fahriyansyah, and Tumpal Tampubolon are short film directors who have passed by at international film festivals for their short films.

Aditya Ahmad, the director of the short film Kado who received the Best Film award at the Venice Film Festival 2018. Dancing Colors, one of M. Reza Fahriyansyah's latest short films, competed at the 75th Locarno Film Festival 2022. Tumpal Tampubolon, the director of the short Marine film Called me who received the Sonje Award, the best short film award at the 2021 Busan International Film Festival.

Several other directors are Anggun Priambodo and Gianni Fajri, two familiar names on popular and independent music scheme in Indonesia. They are directors for several music videos. Anggun Priambodo received the best director award for the music video for the song Train Song, a song from another indie rock band. Gianni Fajri recently received the 2022 Maya Cup Elected Music Clip award for the song Il Songo from Isyana Sarasvati.
