JAKARTA - One of three men charged with the armed robbery of Lady Gaga's dog guide, in which the singer's French Bulldog was kidnapped, has been sentenced to four years in prison by a California court.

As quoted by Reuters on Thursday, Jaylin Keyshawn White admitted to being part of the gang that shot Ryan Fischer while walking Lady Gaga's three dogs in Hollywood in February 2021.

White, now 20, pleaded guilty to the robbery and received a four-year prison sentence. Video footage around the scene shows a car pulling up near Fischer and then two people jumping out of the car.

Someone asked Fischer to surrender before fighting, then gunshots rang out, the dog sitter sprawled out in the street, screaming.

The attackers each took a dog, Koji and Gustav, and left Fischer screaming for help. The third dog, Miss Asia, ran back to the dog guide after the kidnappers escaped.

The robbery led Lady Gaga to offer a $500,000 reward for the person who returned her pet, as quoted by AFP.

White was charged in April 2021 along with James Howard Jackson, now 19, and Lafayette Shon Whaley, now 28. Fischer suffered a gunshot wound to the chest as a result of the incident.

Quoted from ANTARA, Los Angeles Police said the robbery occurred not because of its owner Lady Gaga, but because of the dog breed's value on the black market.

French Bulldogs are small and friendly, so they are easy to pick up. The dogs can be associated with stars like Lady Gaga, Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Jackman, Chrissy Teigen, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Madonna making them more attractive and can sell for thousands of dollars.
