He told of the current situation experienced by JKT48 where they have suffered continuous losses since the end of March 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, their activities are limited.

To fans and the public, the management team and stakeholders continue to discuss whether they should disband after a career of nine years.

"In this situation, we can no longer continue activities. In the midst of this pressure, we kept thinking about the meaning of this group's existence, in the end we came back to the conclusion that we exist to provide energy and enthusiasm for the Indonesian people, precisely because in the future for the sake of what it is now, "said Melody.

Melody again said the only way they could survive is to reduce the number of members and management staff. Currently they have 70 members and 50 staff working for JKT48.

JKT48 is the sister group of the Japanese group AKB48. Formed in 2011, JKT48 is the first expansion group from Japan. They have a large number of fans, it can be seen from the JKT48 theater which is always crowded with fans.

Throughout his career, JKT48 spawned four studio albums with 21 singles. In addition, they also plunged into the world of acting through the film Viva JKT48 in 2014.
