Dehydration, Santana Gitarist Pingsan During Concerts In America

JAKARTA - Seasoned guitarist Carlos Santana fainted on stage during a concert in the US, Tuesday night local time. The hot weather and lack of body fluids make him dehydrated.

The 74-year-old Grammy Award winner was performing at the Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston, Michigan when the incident occurred. Quoted from a statement on its website, Santana was taken to an emergency unit at the McLaren medical center Clarkston for inspection and his condition is fine.

"For everyone, thank you for your prayers. Cindy and I are fine, just resting," Santana wrote on her Facebook page, referring to his wife, drummer Cindy Blackman.

"Forgot to eat and drink water, so I became dehydrated and fainted, may you all be blessed," said ANTARA, Thursday, July 7.

Video footage from the concert showed medical personnel and crew crowding around Santana on stage.

Santana manager Michael Vrionis said in a statement that Wednesday's guitarist performance in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania will be postponed to the next date.

Known for hits such as "Black Magic Woman" and "Oye Como Va", Santana, who was born in Mexico, skyrocketed in popularity in the late 1960s with her band Santana, who is currently on the "Miraculous Cup 2022 Tour" tour.
