JAKARTA - The schedule for the United States metal music group Dream Theater in Solo has finally been released. This rock band that is favored by Joko Widodo will have a concert in Solo, Central Java, on August 10, 2022.

Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka at a press conference in Solo, Wednesday, said the show was one of the efforts to accelerate economic recovery.

"We welcome especially international events in Solo. This is also to treat homesickness, especially young people in Solo who love loud music. Yesterday (some time ago) there was actually Rock in Solo but it was still limited," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, June 29.

However, considering that the COVID-19 pandemic is still happening in Solo, he advised the committee to continue to pay attention to health protocols.

Meanwhile, he continued, the concert which will be held by Rajawali Indonesia is planned to bring in as many as 10,000 spectators. He said that later there would be 7,000 tickets sold ahead of the concert.

"A total of 3,000 tickets have been purchased by prospective audiences when the (Dream Theater) concert will be in Jakarta. That's why we sold another 7,000 tickets, for sales starting July 1," said Founder of Rajawali Indonesia, Anas Syahrul Alimi.

He said the Dream Theater concert in Solo was the opening concert for the first Asian tour. This tour is part of the Top of The World Tour which started last February.

"After Solo they will immediately hold a concert in Japan," he said.

He said that the band had planned to hold a concert in Jakarta in 2020, but the plan was canceled following the outbreak of COVID-19.

"We courted him for a long time, two years but finally they agreed to a concert here," he said. The Dream Theater concert in Solo will be held at the Manahan Stadium, Solo.
