JAKARTA - The Instagram account of former BIGBANG member Seungri seems to have disappeared from social media. Reportedly, the account named @seungriseyo has been deleted since Monday, May 30.

His account was deleted days after a South Korean court rejected Seungri's appeal for his criminal case related to Burning Sun. Launching NME, his account was locked on May 26 until it disappeared five days later.

Instagram itself is said to not allow perpetrators of sexual harassment to use its platform.

“Convicted sex offenders are not allowed to use Instagram. If you come across an account that may belong to a convicted sex offender, please use the form to let us know," Instagram said in a statement.

Apart from Seungri, the Instagram accounts of singers Jung Joon Young and Choi Jong Hoon have also disappeared.

In August 2021, Seungri was found guilty of nine cases ranging from embezzlement of money to providing prostitution to investors. He was sentenced to three years in prison and paid a fine of Rp. 12 billion.

Then in January, Seungri pleaded guilty and intended to reflect on his actions. As a result, his sentence was reduced in half to one year and eight months.

Seungri is scheduled to be transferred to the Penitentiary and his sentence will end in February 2023. On the other hand, he has stated that he has resigned from BIGBANG and the entertainment industry since this case appeared in public.
