JAKARTA - In a defamation trial, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp gave each other statements about the domestic violence they experienced together. Amber was questioned about the drug monster accusations directed at her ex-husband.

During cross-examination, Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez showed the jury a knife that Heard bought for Depp as a gift in 2012. The actress known for the film "Aquaman" said Depp had turned into a violent man by then and would often vent to him when drunk or taking drugs. .

Quoted from Reuters, lawyers questioned the choice of goods given to the man who claimed to be drunk and violent, but Heard replied he thought at the time Depp would not stab him with a knife.

Lawyers also read excerpts from journals that Heard said contained messages of the couple's love.

"True love is not just passionate passion or choosing peace. No, it's about both," Heard wrote in May 2015, two months after an argument in which the tip of Depp's middle finger was severed.

"I still, probably really want to tear you apart, devour you, and enjoy the taste," Heard added.

Depp said Heard threw a bottle of vodka that cut off his fingertips, while Heard said Depp hurt himself when he threw the phone.

In another excerpt from Depp and Heard's love journal, following their honeymoon on the Orient Express in July 2015, Heard wrote he "couldn't imagine a more beautiful honeymoon," adding "I love you and love you more as the days go by."

Heard told the jury Monday that Depp was violent and wrapped a t-shirt around his neck while on his honeymoon.

Depp's attorney also shows the proposed schedule for Heard and Depp's wedding. The agenda includes special times for dance parties, drugs and music after dinner.

"Are you planning on taking drugs at your wedding to someone you call a drug addict?" asked Vasquez quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, May 19.

Heard said the schedule was a draft that was still being tweaked. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard married in February 2015 and officially divorced two years later.

Johnny Depp's lawyers also questioned Amber Heard about love messages she wrote at the wedding to challenge claims that Depp was a violent person.

In this defamation case, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star is suing Heard for $50 million, saying her ex-wife tarnished her name when claiming she was a victim of domestic violence. Heard retaliated against $100 million, saying Depp tarnished his name for calling him a liar.

When asked about his writing, Heard said he was trying to restore peace and said "when things are good, things are very good".

The case began with Heard's opinion article published in the Washington Post. The article didn't mention Depp, but lawyers said it was clear Heard had written about Depp. They divorced in 2017, less than two years after getting married.

Depp, one of Hollywood's biggest stars, said Heard's accusations cost him "everything".
