Not Ordinary Love, Cambodian Film Offers Adult Love In Facing Infidelity

JAKARTA - The Cambodian film, directed by Rako Prijanto, starts airing Friday, April 13. Prior to its release, the film held a virtual gala premiere which was attended by Adipati Dolken, Della Dartyan, and Revaldo.

Cambodia is set in 1955 in Jakarta, there are a husband and wife named Danti (Della Dartyan) and Sena (Revaldo), who live in a boarding house. Danti is a worker in the library, and Sena is active in a political party.

Cik Mei's boarding house has three rooms. The first room is occupied by Bayu (Adipati Dolken) and his wife, Lastri (Carmela). Bayu is a freelance writer for opinion columns and short stories in newspapers, while Lastri is a singer.

Danti and Sena occupy the second room, while the other room is rented by someone named Erwan. The boarding house feels lonely when Sena has to go out of town for party business, and Lastri goes around town to sing at a party's campaign event.

Meanwhile, Bayu and Danti are mostly at home and meet by accident. They have something in common, namely being introverted and fond of literature. Feel fit, but they choose to keep the commitment with their respective partners. Even though Danti found something odd on Sena's trip out of town.

Adipati admitted that Bayu's character was very different from his own. "As you know, I'm on fire. But to play my baby, I have to hold my baby inside. It's quite different, I don't like writing, it's the opposite," said Adipati Dolken.

"While the original wasn't that smooth, but it had to be stiff, it was quite a challenge with my personality, who was on fire during filming, I couldn't let go, there couldn't be Dodot there," he explained.

Della Dartyan also feels that there are many challenges when playing the character of Danti. "The difference between me and Danti is that I am cheerful, cheerful, while Danti is introverted, a housewife who takes care of her husband. The challenge in Danti is how to get into her, Danti is very cold when something goes wrong," he explained.
