Tears Broke When Meeting Kabul 'Tessy' Srimulat, Erick Estrada: My Child Is Shy

JAKARTA - Erick Estrada couldn't help but cry when he met Pakde Kabul alias Tessy Srimulat at the Gala Premiere of the film Srimulat: The Impossible Hil, First Act. Playing the character of Tessy, Erick admitted that he felt stressed.

"Frankly, this is a tough film for me. It's stressful to be honest. But here I also don't want to resemble or make a difference between me and the real Tessy. Here I do my best as an artist not to disappoint. I always ask for the blessing of Pakde Kabul ," said Erick at Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Thursday, May 12.

It's not just Tessy's character that stresses her out. Erick said he was worried because his son was embarrassed. Kabul also experienced this when he first played Tessy.

"I played Tessy, it became a boomerang for my child. After I played the character of a Tessy, my son didn't want to go to school because his friends were harassed him. And that happened to Erick's brother. It's exactly the same," said Kabul.

While holding back tears, Erick also admitted that the child was also mocked by his friends when he played the character 'Tessy'. In fact, the child was taken to a psychologist because he was bullied.

"Yes, this can be called magic in films. I asked what happened to Mr. Tessy, because I observed as an actor how his gestures were, the way he walked, that's what I noticed," said Erick.

"But behind that, yes, I also experienced what happened to him. From family, from children. Yes, again, God gives a test to someone to go to class, yes. Not going to class first, then taking the exam," he concluded.

Although he admits he feels stressed, Erick's acting has received praise from Tessy Srimulat. In fact, Tessy felt grateful that someone was still following in her footsteps. Because according to him, giving birth to the character 'Tessy' was not easy.

"I saw Erick's acting very happy. I am grateful that there are still people who follow in my footsteps. Even though at that time I was really, I became a Tessy, it wasn't like that right away," said Kabul Basuki alias Tessy.
