JAKARTA - Korean drama Woori The Virgin premieres starting Monday, May 9. This drama is one of two Im Soo Hyang projects released this year.

Im Soo Hyang and co-star Sung Hoon are acting for the third time. Previously they had met through the dramas New Tales of Gisaeng (2011) and Five Enough (2016).

Here is a complete synopsis of the Korean drama Woori The Virgin:

As the name implies, Woori The Virgin tells of Oh Woori (Im Soo Hyang), a serial writer. He has committed to keeping his virginity until he gets married and trying to keep the relationship from running romantically.

Oh Woori is in a relationship with Lee Kang Jae (Shin Dong Wook), a police officer.

Oh Woori routinely does medical tests. But one time, there was a problem that made her get artificial insemination so that she just realized she was pregnant and became a victim of doctor malpractice.

She also finds out that the child she is carrying is the son of the CEO of Diamond Cosmetics, Raphael (Sung Hoon). Now, Raphael is in the process of divorcing Lee Ma Ri (Hong Ji Yoon) even though his wife does not want a divorce.

Raphael also found out that he was the father of Oh Woori's child and was surprised to learn that he and Oh Woori had a relationship in the past.

Woori The Virgin is a drama remake of the 2014 American series Jane the Virgin also adapted from Venezuela's Juana la Virgen. This drama is directed by Jung Jung Hwa who has worked on My Absolute Boyfriend and Wind Blows.

While the script was written by Jang Ah Mi who made Woori The Virgin his writing debut.

Woori The Virgin stars Im Soo Hyang, Sung Hoon, Shin Dong Wook, Hong Ji Yoon, Lee Min Ji, Hong Eun Hee, Kim Sa Kwon, Ahn Shin Woo, and many others.

The broadcast of the first episode received a rating of 4.1 percent and was considered sufficient. Meanwhile, Woori The Virgin airs every Monday and Tuesday on SBS and VIU.
