JAKARTA - Disney's decision to broadcast the film Soul through Disney Plus disappointed European cinema operators.

Quoting Variety , Monday

"Cinema operators invest in providing the safest experience to their audiences in order to promise new film schedules," he said.

However, their disappointment arose after Soul moved to streaming services. Moreover, this film has premiered at several European film festivals such as the London Film Festival and Rome Film Festival.

"The release of a new film will make changes to support the public returning to the cinema. Apart from Europe, many cinemas have opened successful businesses - broadcasting local releases, considering the current titles are more important than ever, "they continued.

"It's not just theaters and audiences who are deprived - this situation is also frustrating for film creators and activists who want to see their films on the big screen."

Previously, a similar incident was carried out by Disney on Mulan where Disney moved this film to be broadcast digitally.

A man known to the owner of Cinepal cinema was seen destroying Mulan's poster after the news was announced. He said this news made him disappointed because his party had high hopes for this film.

The film Soul will premiere via Disney Plus on December 25.
