Lee Sung Kyung And Kim Young Dae Learn A Lot Through Shooting Stars

JAKARTA - Lee Sung Kyung and Kim Young Dae compete in the latest Korean drama, Shooting Stars. They learn a lot from the set so that as public figures, they begin to understand what it's like to work behind the scenes.

Shooting Stars tells the story of Oh Han Byeol (Lee Sung Kyung), a PR (public relations) at an agency who works to overcome crises. Gong Tae Sung (Kim Young Dae) is a top actor who is under the agency where Oh Han Byeol works.

“When I started filming this drama, I didn't know about their work. "What is that person doing?" "What's the job?" I learned a lot through this drama," Kim Young Dae told tvN.

“I worked a lot with the people around me and we became close more than a working relationship. There were many scenes that made me remember and I became a reference when acting," said Lee Sung Kyung.

Kim Young Dae plays a top actor who is arrogant and selfish. But in fact he doesn't feel the same way as Gong Tae Sung.

"I'm not a top actor in real life, so I wasn't sure at first. So Han Byeol (Lee Sung Kyung) helped me a lot. He shared a lot of stories for reference and that was really helpful,” said the Penthouse star.

Lee Sung Kyung, who is more senior than Kim Young Dae, revealed that he had no difficulty with his new PR role. He learned a lot from the agency and the people around him.

“Many people at the agency have worked with me. I heard a lot of stories from female staff and what they felt, even though I didn't experience it but I could feel it," explained Lee Sung Kyung.

As a worker in the entertainment world, Lee Sung Kyung also feels that there are similarities between himself and the character Oh Han Byeol. This made him happy when he acted in the drama Shooting Stars.

“(The equation) I like to get things done quickly. From Han Byeol's point of view, the management and PR crisis must be swift but I think it is important to respond swiftly to problems. I like that so I think the direction of our work is the same,” he said.
